Welcome! Below I share videos of my visit to Victoria Falls, a journey filled with spectacular views and thrills.

The visit to Victoria Falls

We arrived in the afternoon, still a little dazed from the long plane ride, but the tiredness quickly vanished at the sound of the rushing waters pouring into the deep canyon, whose course separates two nations, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

We immediately began the scenic route, stopping at each viewpoint located in Zimbabwean territory, from which we could admire the full grandeur of the waterfalls plunging into the canyon on the other side of the border.

Each stop was an invitation to contemplate the immensity of nature, with the fine mist of the water enveloping us and the constant roar reverberating in the air, a reminder of the indomitable strength of the Earth. The return journey, illuminated by the warm light of sunset, was an unexpected, almost poetic gift, which perfectly sealed this first day of travel.

The golden rays of the sun gently brushing the landscape transformed every detail into a vibrant painting, from the elongated shadows of the trees to the reflections on the rocks and water. As we walked, the slowly fading warmth of the sun seemed to take away the weariness of the journey, giving way to a feeling of peace and contentment.

The flight over Victoria Falls

The flight over Victoria Falls was undoubtedly one of the unforgettable moments of this trip, an experience that exceeded all expectations.

Seeing this extraordinary natural spectacle from above offers a unique, almost surreal perspective: the rushing waters rushing into the deep canyon appear to be a boundary between heaven and earth, while the roar of the falls becomes a distant whisper, giving way to visual wonder.

We were fortunate to experience a simply perfect day, where nature gifted us a spectacle we will never forget. The sun’s reflections on the main cataract created a hypnotic play of light, making the water sparkle as if embellished with millions of diamonds.

And then, along the entire face of the falls, rainbows continually formed and faded, as if paintings suspended in the air, adding a touch of magic to an already extraordinary landscape. Every glimpse was a discovery, a thrill, with the roar of the waters seeming to amplify the sense of wonder and amazement. It was a moment that made us feel small before the immensity of nature, yet incredibly fortunate to witness such a rare and powerful spectacle, where light, water, and color came together in perfect harmony.

Watching those rainbows sparkle amidst the steam and mist of the waterfalls struck a chord, instilling a sense of peace and awe that only the most extraordinary places on earth can convey.

Victoria Falls Rafting – An adventure I’ll never forget on the Zambezi

After admiring the majestic Victoria Falls thundering into the abyss of the canyon below, I decided to go further: to experience firsthand one of the most thrilling rafting experiences in the world, right among the wild gorges carved out by the Zambezi.

👉 This video tells the story of our rafting on the Zambezi, an adventure as spectacular as it is intense. It all begins with a briefing on land, essential for understanding the basic rules: how to sit, how to paddle, what to do if you are thrown into the water. And if something is not clear, it is essential to ask — because here we do not play. Unfortunately, the guide’s carelessness in minimizing the risks and reassuring even those who cannot swim left us perplexed. It’s all good… as long as it’s all good.

🎒 Helmet, life jacket, paddle in hand, we descend into the canyon. A second briefing on the raft, then a dive into the water to gain confidence. The helmsman’s commands become law: “right only! left only!” — every decision is a matter of seconds. And then the rapids begin, with names that inspire respect: The Mother, Terminator, Washing Machine, Oblivion, Boiling Point… a crescendo of strength and adrenaline between merciless waves and blasts of water that overwhelm you.

🌊 We capsized. Twice. And I can say that those moments at the mercy of the current, even for a good swimmer, were among the scariest of my life. Luckily, the safety kayaks were ready to intervene, but when you’re in the crazy water of the river, every moment is eternal. And yes, despite the warnings, it’s almost impossible not to drink that water. My stomach didn’t take it well. 🚶‍♂️

After the last rapid, my legs are shaking. But it’s not over: the climb up the canyon awaits us. Tiring, hot, endless. Some, exhausted, didn’t even make it in time for lunch. But those who made it found rice, chicken, salad and cold drinks waiting for them – a reward that, after all, tastes like victory.

💬 It’s an experience that marks you, that puts you to the test, that makes you feel alive. Not for everyone, but for those looking for real emotions… it’s a journey into the soul of the river.
