Below, you’ll find videos of the most significant excursions, allowing you to relive the highlights of this first part of the journey. At the bottom of the page, the full documentary captures the essence of this adventure in Botswana, a visual tribute to an authentic and timeless Africa.

In Episode 1 – 04/08/2024, the visit to Victoria Falls

We arrived in the afternoon, still a bit dazed from the long journey from Italy, but the fatigue quickly vanished at the sound of the roaring waters rushing into the deep canyon, whose course separates two nations, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

We immediately began the scenic route, stopping at each viewpoint located in Zimbabwean territory, from which we could admire the full grandeur of the waterfalls plunging into the canyon on the other side of the border.

Each stop was an invitation to contemplate the immensity of nature, with the fine mist of the water enveloping us and the constant roar reverberating in the air, a reminder of the indomitable strength of the Earth. The return journey, illuminated by the warm light of sunset, was an unexpected, almost poetic gift, which perfectly sealed this first day of travel.

The golden rays of the sun gently brushing the landscape transformed every detail into a vibrant painting, from the elongated shadows of the trees to the reflections on the rocks and water. As we walked, the slowly fading warmth of the sun seemed to take away the weariness of the journey, giving way to a feeling of peace and contentment.

In Episode 2 – 05/08/2024, the flight over Victoria Falls

The flight over Victoria Falls was undoubtedly one of the unforgettable moments of this trip, an experience that exceeded all expectations.

Seeing this extraordinary natural spectacle from above offers a unique, almost surreal perspective: the rushing waters rushing into the deep canyon appear to be a boundary between heaven and earth, while the roar of the falls becomes a distant whisper, giving way to visual wonder.

We were fortunate to experience a simply perfect day, where nature gifted us a spectacle we will never forget. The sun’s reflections on the main cataract created a hypnotic play of light, making the water sparkle as if embellished with millions of diamonds.

And then, along the entire face of the falls, rainbows continually formed and faded, as if paintings suspended in the air, adding a touch of magic to an already extraordinary landscape. Every glimpse was a discovery, a thrill, with the roar of the waters seeming to amplify the sense of wonder and amazement. It was a moment that made us feel small before the immensity of nature, yet incredibly fortunate to witness such a rare and powerful spectacle, where light, water, and color came together in perfect harmony.

Watching those rainbows sparkle amidst the steam and mist of the waterfalls struck a chord, instilling a sense of peace and awe that only the most extraordinary places on earth can convey.

In Episode 3 – 05/08/2024, sailing on the Chobe

Chobe National Park takes its name from the majestic Chobe River, which flows along its northern border, protecting this verdant oasis from the arid expanses of the Kalahari Desert. Covering approximately 12,000 square kilometers, the park offers an incredible variety of landscapes, from lush riverine vegetation to open plains and mopane forests.

This diverse environment supports a rich biodiversity, making Chobe one of the best places in the world to observe wild wildlife. Elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, and a myriad of bird species find their ideal habitat here.

The Chobe River, with its abundant waters and breathtaking sunsets, is the beating heart of the park, attracting thirsty animals and offering visitors unforgettable views. Every visit to Chobe National Park is an immersion in the wilderness, an experience that leaves a lasting impression on the soul of those fortunate enough to explore its wonders.

Imagine silently sailing along the banks of the Chobe River, as the late afternoon sun kisses the surrounding savannah. This was our unforgettable experience during the boat safari in the heart of Chobe National Park.

It was a magical moment, where nature itself seemed to paint a vivid and moving picture, leaving an indelible mark on our memories. As the sky turned orange and red, the Chobe River transformed into a golden expanse of water, reflecting the beauty of the world around it.

In Episode 4 – 06/08/2024, the game drive at Chobe National Park

We arrive at the entrance to Chobe National Park very early, the sky shrouded in calm darkness and dawn is just beginning to break.

And yet, despite the early hour, a long line of jeeps is already lining up in front of the gate, each with its own expert drivers, patiently and meticulously preparing for the day’s routine.

During the transfer and the first hours of our game drive, the air is biting, an unexpected chill that catches us off guard despite the several layers of clothing we’ve donned.

But the cold quickly fades into the background when we realize how extraordinarily lucky we are: as soon as the safari begins, we encounter two majestic lions.

After this first sighting, it was a succession of emotions at Chobe National Park, and you can clearly see it in the video; each frame offers a unique and engaging glimpse into an experience that goes far beyond what words can describe.

The close encounters with predators, the fascination of elephants, giraffes, and many other animal species transformed this experience into a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, an experience that left an indelible mark on the soul of those who experienced it.

In Episode 5 – 06/08/2024, Elephant sands

Elephant Sands is a renowned bush camp located near Nata, Botswana, offering a unique and immersive experience in the heart of the wilderness.

Its distinctive feature is the common area, complete with a small pool and a panoramic terrace overlooking a waterhole, where majestic elephants come to drink and cool off.

The thrill of observing these peaceful giants roaming freely, just steps away, is priceless. The camp features bungalows arranged in a circle around this oasis, while the camping area allows visitors to experience the experience in a more adventurous way.

The uniqueness of Elephant Sands is the constant presence of large herds of elephants, who peacefully move between the waterhole and the bush, sometimes even crossing the tent area, making the stay even more exciting.

From the pool and terrace, you can enjoy a privileged and incredibly close-up view of these majestic creatures, offering unforgettable moments in complete safety.

The serenity of the environment, combined with the charm of the elephants cooling off in the water, creates a magical atmosphere, where the boundary between man and nature seems to dissolve.

In Episode 6 – 08/08/2024, the mokoro boat trip

When we arrive on the shore, the mokoro are already waiting for us, lined up on the calm water as if in a silent welcome.

They will each carry two of us, entrusted to the expert guidance of our oarsman, who will not only expertly lead us through the calm channels of the delta but will also be our interpreter of the surrounding nature.

After a short briefing, in which we are explained how to behave and what to expect from this unique experience, it’s time to set off.

We glide gently across the water, leaving the shore behind us and immersing ourselves in a landscape that seems out of time, where the sound of the long oar rhythmically sinking into the water is the only melody, interrupted only by the calls of birds and the rustling of vegetation.

The feeling is one of a profound connection with nature as we delve deeper into this branch of the delta, ready to discover every detail of this vibrant and living ecosystem.

In Episode 7 – 09/08/2024, Moremi Reserve Game drive

A game drive at Moremi Reserve is a breathtaking experience, a concentration of emotions that are difficult to describe in words.

From the first moment, you’re immersed in a world where nature reigns supreme, and every turn of the trail reveals a new wonder.

The reserve’s expanses are populated by an incredible variety of animals: from majestic elephants moving silently through the trees to herds of zebras and antelopes grazing peacefully, creating a living landscape of pure beauty.

But it’s the encounter with large predators, like lions, that provides the most intense emotions: seeing them up close, in their natural habitat, makes your heart beat faster, knowing you’re witnessing something extraordinary.

Every sighting is unique; every look from these wild animals seems to tell an ancient story of survival and freedom.

Moremi Reserve is not just a place to observe wildlife, but an experience that deeply connects you with nature, making you feel part of a vibrant and pristine ecosystem.

In Episode 8 – 10/08/2024, the flight over the Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta is undoubtedly a unique place in the world, carefully protected and monitored, like the entire territory of Botswana.

Great credit goes to the foresight of its government, who have invested decisively in the conservation of this natural heritage.

The delta’s uniqueness lies in the fact that a majestic river, instead of flowing into the sea, disappears into the Kalahari Desert, creating a 15,000 km² floodplain.

Here, the river carves out a complex and ever-changing grid of channels, lagoons, and islands, an ever-changing aquatic mosaic.

This natural wonder provides refuge to a vast array of animal and plant species, many of which are rare or endemic.

The Okavango Delta is a vibrant ecosystem, where life thrives thanks to the harmonious interaction between water and land.

Its protection is a national and international priority, as it represents not only an ecological treasure but also a fundamental resource for sustainable tourism, which brings significant economic benefits to the country and promotes global awareness of the need to preserve such unique environments.

And finally the documentary of the trip.
